iePolitics: County BOS says “FU” to its female employees

In a move that is not shocking, only disgusting, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors gave the finger to all female employees in San Bernardino County.  In reality it also gave the finger to all employees who might be the subject of their supervisor’s or manager’s affection.  They gave carte blanche to all managers, administrators, and supervisors to sexually harass subordinates as the BOS will pay for their defense if the victim complains.  Or should I say, the taxpayers will pay for it.

The Board of Supervisors is very aware of District Attorney Mike Ramos’ sexual exploits with his subordinates and colleagues alike during county time, on county property, and in county vehicles.  Most of them personally witnessed him and Doreen Boxer at the City/County Conference in Lake Arrowhead several years ago.

iePolitcs: A perfect example of Ruthie’s malfeasance

Here is another perplexing board item on Tuesday’s San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Agenda:

County Counsel
19) Approve Agreement with Gresham, Savage, Nolan & Tilden to provide representation and related legal services in connection with the litigation entitled Cheryl Ristow v. County of San Bernardino, et al., Case No. CIVDS 1010909 (Four votes required).

(Affected Districts: All)
(Presenter: Ruth E. Stringer, County Counsel, 387-5451)

Remember, District Attorney Mike Ramos, during the City-County Conference and in front of dozens of county and city officials, asked if he could “eat Ruth’s pussy.”  Well it looks like Ruthie wants to return the favor, figuratively speaking, that is.

iePolitics: Where’s Lucy?

We hear that San Bernardino County Transitional Assistance Department (TAD) Deputy Director (?) Lucy Gigena has resigned.  Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t her appointment from ESP district manager to TAD deputy director recent?

I remember we previously discussed her affinity for sharing her sex life with her staff.  It pales in comparison to the other district manager we have featured several times who is known by her staff as the “C—” because she likes to tell her staff which orifice her boyfriend/husband inserted himself into during any given interlude the night before.

iePolitics: The Ristow Lawsuit

I wasn’t going to blog about this because there really is no point right now in arguing the merits of the case.  Anyone who has read this blog for any length of time know where I stand on the issue.  No one is going to believe the outcome I predicted months ago until depositions start being taken and evidence that hasn’t been made available yet becomes public.  Some of you are on Cheryl’s side and some of you are on Mike’s side and I’m not going to change anyone’s opinion.

iePolitics: Public Defender Issues

Here is a scan of what I received today: scan0001

There are two issues with what this informant claims.

First is the issue of being a county employee with a criminal record.  I have seen the county try to fire employees for less than drunk driving.  I have also seen them hire convicted felons.  In one case the employee went to state prison not once, but twice, on felony drug charges and was hired back both times while on parole.  So if you are a favorite, it doesn’t matter what you do.  And if you are not, you better not get a jaywalking ticket.

iePolitics: Inquiring Minds Want to Know

With the pending arrival of newly hired San Bernardino County Administrative Officer Greg Devereaux, we are pondering some points:

  • Will Assistant County Administrative Officer Dean Arabatzis now be required to work 40 hours a week at the County Government Center?  Five days a week, every week?
  • Will the Fifth Floor continue to be a ghost town on both sides of the isle on Fridays?
  • Will CAO Devereaux also work five days a week?
  • Will County Counsel Ruth Stringer and her deputy county counsels be allowed to continue to accrue millions in leave balances?
  • What will replace our beloved “Service First”?
  • Will Chicken Man show up to board meetings in a chicken suit?
  • Will Board of Supervisors staff follow Devereaux’s lead and start working five days a week, 40 hours a week?
  • Will department heads caught lying and cheating have consequences similar to line staff?
  • Will David Wert be required to work 40 hours a week, five days a week, every week?
  • Will department heads who go on vacation be required to green-slip their time?
  • Will non-elected department heads be allowed to continue bonking their line staff?
  • Will anything be done about sexual harassment and racial discrimination in the work place?
  • Will anything of significance ever get accomplished by the Fifth Floor in a timely manner?

iePolitics: Bringing Back Memories

As part of everything else today I had occasion to deal with the Sheriff’s Department’s Civil Division.  I struck up a conversation with the two clerks who helped me.

I spent 3.5 years working for the Marshal’s Office prior to it being taken over by the Sheriff’s Department.  To this day it was one of the best, most enjoyable jobs I ever had. I  It is a very technical job that requires a great deal of knowledge about the Code of Civil Procedure, Civil Code, Government Code and Penal Code.  As a result we were classified much, much higher than other clerical staff. Well, thanks to San Bernardino Public Employees Association that has changed.  They are classified as Office Assistants II I believe.

Anyway, this triggered lots of memories.  And I realize nothing has changed in this county in 30 years.

InlandPolitics Commentary: Santa Monica law firm at center of Ramos report focus

Was the true scope of the law firm hired by San Bernardino County Human Resources Director Andrew Lamberto to mount a politically explosive investigation really focused on just three questions?

Will county supervisors answer that question soon, or just try and delay until after the June election.

The Santa Monica office of law firm of Curiale Hirschfeld Kraemer, LLP was hired to investigate misconduct allegations leveled against District Attorney Michael Ramos and certain members of his management team by Investigative Technician Cheryl Ristow. Ristow says she a had a 17-month long affair with Ramos and that when the affair became public last may she was retaliated against after expressing concerns to management.
