Grassroots is what it is about. These folks want a fresh start and they will stand all day with a sign to get it. Thanks to all the volunteers. We have had more than 20 folks helping on this today. We will have people in Chino Hills, Victorville, Rancho, and Redlands, Sunday and Monday. If you want to help contact us at sheriffpaul@charter.net. Lets roll.

Candidate for Sheriff Paul Schrader discusses concerns from San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Staff.
During the past three months I have had discussions of importance with some San Bernardino County professional staff, deputies, detectives, sergeants, lieutenants and 1 captain.
One area of concern is the Mini 14 rifle. Most sworn staff do not like the Mini 14′s. I prefer the AR 15 over the Mini 14.
The following evaluation is based on law enforcement evaluations in the USA. The Ruger’s Mini-14 is not as reliable or accurate as AR-15 rifles, which was discovered in an impartial evaluation of the two rifles in a head-to-head comparison. I think we need to give the deputies the opportunity to purchase and carry AR 15′s on patrol. I will also authorize them to take them home for protection.
I will implement the AR 15 program after I am elected sheriff.
Another area of concern is the Hoops’ good ol boy establishment in the Department. I will immediately begin to work on transparency within the ranks of our Department to break down the good ol boy system. This will help regain trust with the executives and staff in the Department. The promotion system and discipline system will be improved to help remove the good ol boy system. It will also be fair and transparent.
The last area of concern I will address at this time is professional staff. I will ensure the professional staff receive the training and respect they deserve as members of our Department.
Thanks SBSD!!!!

Candidate for Sheriff Paul Schrader’s new sign wavers.
Our campaign is on fire. We have people waving signs who are 7 years old to 68 years old. Every weekend they are on streets in the county waving our signs for a few hour. We had one group stand in Rancho Cucamonga for 6 hours. We have them in the high desert and all over the basin. We have some that do this during the week. Are main goal is the weekends and the 3 days prior to the election. If you want to join us, email me at sheriffpaul.net and we will get you out there. Also ask about the free limo ride. Paul Schrader: Paul Schrader candidate for Sheriff of San Bernardino County backs three pro-gun bills.
We need to see change regarding the gun laws in California. Call your lawmakers and tell them you want the law changed.
On Tuesday, April 6, the Assembly Public Safety Committee will consider three pro-gun bills.
Assembly Bill 2053, sponsored by Assemblymember Jeff Miller (R-71), would clarify the current statutes for law enforcement to issue a concealed firearms license. Under AB2053, the “good cause” stipulation would apply to self-defense, defending the life of another, or preventing crime in which a human life is threatened. Continue reading

Paul Schrader: K-9 UNITS- San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department
When I am elected, I will bring back the K-9 units (dog units) to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s patrol.
The deputies in the field tell me, they are mad at the command staff. They have lost faith in them. When I talk to deputies in patrol they tell me, “we need our K-9 units back” and they get mad when they talk about it. They feel that their safety is compromised when approaching a building or car with armed suspects and unable to use a K-9 unit. They are able to ask other agencies for K-9 help from time to time. This is unacceptable.
