iePolitics: A good start for Rutherford

As we reviewed Item No. 4 on Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors agenda, we have to say that is appears we never should have doubted Janice’s commitment to ethics.  What stands out is not whom she hired for her staff, but whose names do not appear . . . at least so far.

iePolitics: Chris Jones: Second tier campaign consultant with a first tier capacity for sleaze and deceitful campaigning

Chris Jones was an unknown to iePolitics two years ago.  He began sending us press releases for his candidates quite a while back and we printed many of them.   Then we learned the truth about Chris Jones.

Don Kurth

We first discovered what a slime ball Chris Jones really is when he was the consultant for the Don Kurth.  Combined with campaign manager Jessica Austin, the two ran the dirtiest campaign in San Bernardino County.

Jones and Austin hit the blogs using pseudonyms to disparage every opponent with outrageous claims and lies.  No one ever said either was bright because pseudonyms don’t hide IP addresses and we all quickly learned what they were up to.

Jones and Austin represented the dirtiest candidate running for the 63rd Assembly District.  Kurth was the only candidate to have a known cocaine habit, a history of domestic violence, or to have spent time in prison.

However, Kurth was the front runner going into the campaign and raised the most money.  He also sent out the most negative campaign flyers.  With all their subterfuge and fund raising he only garnered a third place showing.

iePolitics: Jessica Austin Get a Grip!

Honest to goodness, you are turning into the sleaziest of campaigners.  Jessica, you keep sending me those long, tearful pleas to keep your name off of my blog and then you pull stunts like you did again tonight.  I’m really tired of it.

Do you actually believe there is a politico in all of San Bernardino County that has respect for what you are doing?  I know that those who are very close to you tell you that your shit don’t stink, but everyone else is talking behind your back.  Your name is becoming synonymous with dirty campaigning.  As a politico told me the other day, you have become known throughout the state for being immature and unprofessional.  Everywhere I go, people are talking about you in the most negative of tones.  No one is going to want you as a campaign manager if you keep this up. iePolitics: Is “Ethical Politico” an Oxymoron?

A couple of years ago I was just getting to know a few lower-level politicos, one of them being Jessica Austin, who was serving as an aide to San Bernardino County Third District Supervisor at the time.  I had been told by someone that San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos was the “dirtiest politician in San Bernardino County.”  To be honest, at the time I didn’t really even know who Mike Ramos was.

I asked Jessica what the above comment meant.  She indicated she wasn’t sure as all she knew about him was that he was a womanizer and cheated on his wife a lot, a whole lot.  This was one of many conversations we had over the next year or so about cheating men and how much disdain we both had for men who could not keep it zipped up.  We also had a lot of conversations into the early morning hours about ethics in government and politics and how there is so little of it.  Jessica reminded me several times that her major included an ethics emphasis and she wanted to do her share to clean of up politics once she graduated from college.  She also said that she would never work for an unethical boss. iePolitics: SBGOP Refuses to Endorse Mike Ramos – Revised

San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos attended last night’s meeting of the San Bernardino County Republican Central Committee (SBGOP) to ask for their endorsement of his re-election bid.  Arriving late, he indicated that he had been busy and needed to get back to his “family.”  Ramos, however, was denied the endorsement.

It was the recommendation of the Endorsement Committee to issue “No Endorsement” in the county race for District Attorney.  However, one member of the committee made a motion to overturn that recommendation and instead debate the issue.  Jessica Austin, former aide to deposed San Bernardino County Third District Supervisor Dennis Hansberger and also former aide and admirer of Congressman Jerry Lewis, made the motion on behalf of Ramos but there was no second, not even from supporter First District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt.  It should be noted that Mike Ramos along with Congressman Lewis and Dennis Hansberger are considered the power block of San Bernardino County’s East Valley Region.  Prior to revelations of Ramos’ penchant for sexual misconduct and politically motivated prosecutions, Ramos was considered the front runner to succeed to Congressman Lewis.  Austin has stated that her actions echo those of her mentors Lewis and Hansberger and last night she proved it with her attempt to gain an endorsement for a controversial and nefarious individual such as Mike Ramos. iePolitics: An Open Letter to Jessica Austin

Jessica,

Do you remember a few months ago when you issued your executive order that I never write about you on the blog or discuss you with anyone in private?   Not that I had any obligation to do so, but I have left your name off of the blog out of respect for our past friendship.  When you recently asked for an account on the blog for Don I accommodated you as I would any candidate.

However, as of 2 a.m. this morning, I have had it with your shenanighans.  You should know by now that I know your IP address and your modus operandi.  I’m really disappointed in you. Continue reading
