Dear Friend:

The California housing market continues to struggle, with too many empty houses in neighborhoods, and too many people still at risk of losing their homes. I am pleased to let you know about a new investment for California that aims to help with this continued housing crisis.

President Barack Obama recently announced the “Help for the Hardest-Hit Housing Markets” Program that will direct funding to state housing finance agencies in California, as well as Nevada, Arizona, Michigan and Florida, to address the housing crisis at the local level.

I am pleased that President Obama recognizes that California and other states hit hard by the housing crisis will need additional resources. While there is still more to do, this investment will provide help to homeowners who are struggling during these tough economic times and are at risk of losing their homes. I will continue to work closely with the Administration and state officials to make sure these funds keep families in their homes.

If you would like to know more about this program, I encourage you to visit http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/help-hardest-hit-housing-markets

Sincerely,
