Former NFL player in Adelanto today to give food to low income residents

Mayor Rich Kerr and Turk McBride

Turk McBride, a defensive end who played with the Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints, and Chicago Bears, donated $10,000 to the food giveaway in the city of Adelanto through his Aim High youth organization.  Thanks to his generosity and that of local charities, 1,000 low-income Adelanto families will receive groceries just in time for Christmas.

Aimee Hines from Another Level for Women is the lead coordinator for the food giveaway.  In what could be called a “Christmas miracle,” with help from her contacts and other resources, the $10,000 will be multiplied enough to provide groceries for one week for 1,000 of the lowest income Adelanto students and their families.
