Today San Bernardino County First District Supervisor Robert Lovingood sent out his latest official county newsletter. In that newsletter he endorsed Assemblyman Scott Wilk for the California State Senate, which in turn could bring political favor for Lovingood. That endorsement triggered a third complaint with the Fair Political Practices Commission and the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office Public Integrity Unit.
Angela Valles, who also filed the previous two complaints, filed the third complaint this afternoon. The first two complaints are still under investigation by both agencies as confirmed by written correspondence from both. The District Attorney’s investigation is a criminal investigation.
Valles alleges that San Bernardino County Rule 1 – Code of Ethics and Commitment to County Public Services was violated. The rule includes the following sections:
