SBCo. District Attorney reminds residents that driving and alcohol don’t mix

Labor Day DUI

With the Labor Day weekend in progress, District Attorney Mike Ramos would like to remind residents that drinking and driving is not tolerated in San Bernardino County.  He asks that everyone makes safety part of their weekend.

He says that if you see a drunk driver on the road, pull over and call 9-1-1.  When you call, be prepared to provide the dispatcher with a description of the vehicle, license plate number, location, and direction of travel. Before you call, the California Highway Patrol advises that you make sure you are aware of your surroundings, especially streets, highways, directions, city or nearest town where you are calling.

Last year Ramos’ office filed 140 DUI-related cases that occurred during the Labor Day weekend.  Of those 140 cases, seven involved serious injury.
