Protest over handling of Lamberto solicitation conviction planned for tomorrow

SEIU Local 721 Protest

The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 721, along with other union representatives, members of the clergy, concerned citizens, and Congressional candidate Paul Chabot, is planning a news conference and protest in front of the San Bernardino County Government Center on Thurs., Nov. 5 at 10 a.m.  At issue is the arrest and conviction for soliciting a prostitute by San Bernardino County Human Resources Director Andrew Lamberto.

Lamberto answered an Internet advertisement only to find himself caught up in a police sting operation.  He was sentenced to ten days of community service, attendance at John school, and three years of probation.  He must also submit to an HIV test and give a DNA sample.

Lamberto serves not only as the director of Human Resources but oversees two other departments and has the additional title of Executive Administrator.  As such he is allowed to act and speak on behalf of the county’s board of supervisors.
