Do you remember a little over a year ago I asked for any info on CFS? At the time I received a great deal of documentation from numerous former CFS employees (and some current ones at the time) about child deaths and abuse where managers and supervisors at the San Bernardino County Department of Children and Family Services refused to allow social workers to take necessary action. As I said at the time, last year’s Grand Jury was a special one for reasons I shall not list here but insiders know what I’m talking about. The timing was perfect to get something done that had been ignored for so long so I submitted everything I received to the Grand Jury.
Well, last night Fox News LA released their first installment regarding their own investigation into the issue. According to Fox, the special Grand Jury report could be released as early as next month. Here is the link to their report.
This goes back to what I’ve been saying right along about all of Human Services. It is about getting money into county coffers, and nothing else. That is the legacy of Greg Devereaux, Linda Haugan, all of the members of the Board of Supervisors (except Hagman because he has not been there long enough), and the managers Devereaux supports in allowing this to happen.
Despite being a mandated reporter, I was personally threatened with my job for making a CFS report on a very justified case that landed the father in state prison. CFS reports, like welfare fraud reports, were discouraged, because if they were found to be true, there might be less people on welfare. That is the name of the game in San Bernardino County.
