A meeting will be held on November 3, 2015 to discuss the work performance of Chief Executive Officer Greg Devereaux. Here is the agenda item:
Public Employee Performance Evaluation/Public Employee Discipline (Government Code section 54957)
- Title: Chief Executive Officer
The discussion will take place in closed session. But it appears there will be a public comment section as well. Who is willing to attend to express their outrage? I believe there is a regular meeting on the same day. This is a special meeting.
Update: The Daily Bulletin/Redlands Daily Facts is apparently reporting that the special meeting is October 27, 2015 at 8 a.m. As you can see from the screen print below, that is NOT what the BOS website says. You can click on it to enlarge it.
What is interesting is that I normally receive notices of all meetings before close of business on Fridays. I have yet to receive such a notice.
My best guess is that it is Nov. 3 but check back to see if things change. I think the special meeting notice serves two purposes. First, it is required under the Brown Act. Second, it is to give Devereaux notice that his job is being discussed.
When three board members decided they wanted to fire Mark Uffer, County Counsel required them to give Uffer advanced notice. They also gave notice in some manner (perhaps through County Counsel so it would not be a Brown Act violation but I don’t remember for sure) to the remaining two supervisors—Josie Gonzales and Paul Biane.
Am I suggesting that Devereaux is going to be fired? Not in a million years. I think his worst punishment will be having to listen to Josie lecture him for an hour in a small room where he can’t get away.
