iePolitics: Let’s start a pool . . .

Ok, this will be a non-monetary pool as I don’t want to be indicted by the champions of justice; the guardians of truth, liberty, and the American Way; the proponents  of integrity and fairness; aka the “Thug Squad,” for running an illegal gambling operation.  But we need a pool of guesses as to:

  1. Who will be indicted?
  2. When will the indictments occur?
  3. How high will the bail be?
  4. How many new charges will there be for Jim Erwin?

iePolitics: No reason to let the truth get in the way of a conviction

According to Adam Aleman, Rancho Cucamonga developer Jeff Burum called former Assessor Bill Postmus and told him to give Rex Gutierrez a job.  And the District Attorneys office is quite happy to let the jury think that.  It makes their story of a grand conspiracy all the more believable.  There is one problem.  DA investigators never bothered to follow up on Aleman’s claim to verify it.

The truth is a little different.  What actually happened, had the investigators bothered to ask, is Burum and Jim Erwin were talking, as they often do since they are friends.  Burum mentioned Gutierrez and the fact he needed a job closer to home.  Burum asked if there were any jobs open in the Assessor’s Office—ANY!

iePolitics: Cop misdeed of the day – Part Two

This, of course, is an old one.  It only took six years for there to be “justice.”  Note the quotation marks because “justice” is in the eye of the beholder, or in this case, the receiver.

How many of us could do what Daniel Tidwell did, drag the case on for six years, and then get probation and a fine?  Oops, I forgot.  He is the son of the former Sheriff.  Different strokes for different folks.

iePolitics: More information on FBI probe

Additional information regarding the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) probe into the San Bernardino County corruption scandal has been trickling into iePolitics.  It appears there are two general areas the Bureau is concentrating on: all investigations conducted by District Attorney Mike Ramos’ Public Integrity Unit (PIU) and the Superior Court bench.

Based upon questions being asked by agents, this investigation is wide-ranging.  iePolitics has been told that questions are being asked regarding various real estate deals; destruction of records by former Third District Supervisor Dennis Hansberger; disparity in handling the various FPPC complaints by Ramos against Penrod, Erwin, Biane, Devereaux, and others; the difference in the way in which 1099 charges against Jim Miller and Bea Cortes were handled; the POST scandal; possibly several of the issues at ARMC (regarding Supervisors Biane and Gonzales); and much more.

iePolitics: More selective prosecution?

We are getting very close to the statute of limitations running on the defendants in the POST scandal and no charges have been filed by San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos.  We are getting very close to the statute of limitations running on former San Bernardino County Supervisor Dennis Hansberger and staff for the destruction of official records when he left office and no charges have been filed by San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos.  We are perhaps not as close to the statute of limitations running on Grand Terrace City Councilwoman Bertha Bea Cortes. but still after the complaint being in the hands of San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos for many months, no charges have been filed.

iePolitics: Hansberger/Ramos to challenge Derry?

It seems the behind-the-scenes chatter is picking up regarding at least one challenger for San Bernardino Third District Supervisor incumbent Neil Derry.  James Ramos, tribal chairman of the San Manuel Band of Serrano Mission Indians, is said to be considering seriously a run for the seat that includes parts of San Bernardino, and the cities/communities of Redlands, Yucaipa,  Big Bear, Highland, Lake Arrowhead and Yucca Valley.

iePolitics: SBGOP Refuses to Endorse Mike Ramos – Revised

San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos attended last night’s meeting of the San Bernardino County Republican Central Committee (SBGOP) to ask for their endorsement of his re-election bid.  Arriving late, he indicated that he had been busy and needed to get back to his “family.”  Ramos, however, was denied the endorsement.

It was the recommendation of the Endorsement Committee to issue “No Endorsement” in the county race for District Attorney.  However, one member of the committee made a motion to overturn that recommendation and instead debate the issue.  Jessica Austin, former aide to deposed San Bernardino County Third District Supervisor Dennis Hansberger and also former aide and admirer of Congressman Jerry Lewis, made the motion on behalf of Ramos but there was no second, not even from supporter First District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt.  It should be noted that Mike Ramos along with Congressman Lewis and Dennis Hansberger are considered the power block of San Bernardino County’s East Valley Region.  Prior to revelations of Ramos’ penchant for sexual misconduct and politically motivated prosecutions, Ramos was considered the front runner to succeed to Congressman Lewis.  Austin has stated that her actions echo those of her mentors Lewis and Hansberger and last night she proved it with her attempt to gain an endorsement for a controversial and nefarious individual such as Mike Ramos. iePolitics: Pinocchio Is At It Again

Our county’s resident lying snitch is at it again.  Yes that’s right.  Pinocchio aka Confidential Informant No. 1 aka the yellow singing Canary, aka Adam Aleman is bragging once again about the testimony he gave to the San Bernardino County Grand Jury this past Monday and Tuesday.  Now, he has already pissed the Grand Jury off once by altering evidence  he sent to them.  That brought about just a few felonies.  Now, he seems to have forgotten he is not supposed to be telling us all what was said during the hearing.  But, this is the brash young Mr. Aleman and he can’t help himself. InlandPolitics: Is dirty politics behind District Attorney actions? – Part 2

In this article we will take a close look at the destroy-at-all-cost targeting of San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos and his Orange County-based political consultant David Ellis, owner of Delta Partners, LLC.

One thing is for certain. It’s becoming increasingly obvious Ramos’ agenda in his falsely-proclaimed never-ending quest to rid San Bernardino County of political corruption, and it definitely isn’t about fighting crime.

That agenda being, neutralize the county’s west-end political power base.

In our last article we discussed the Ramos/Ellis back-stabbing of two politicos. The two being Deputy District Attorney and former Ontario City Councilman Jason Anderson, a now former friend and client of Ellis and perceived threat to Ramos, and Patrick O’Reilly, CEO of Riverside-based O’Reilly Public Relations, and now former friend of Ellis. iePolitics: “The Colonies: Everything Evil Comes Out Of Those People”

“Jeff Burum:  A Traitor to our Constitution;” “Dirty, filthy, stinking, crappy politics;” “Greedy Money Hogs;” “Dirty Pigs” were all expressions I just heard within 60 seconds of tuning in to my least-favorite radio show as a description of Jeff Burum and his businesses.  This is exactly what I was writing about yesterday in the “The Dennis Hansberger Connection.” Continue reading
