A flowered Shar Pei housed at a Los Angeles County Care and Control shelter has been lost by shelter staff just before his neuter surgery and rescue could be accomplished late last week. Apparently, this is not an uncommon occurrence at the Downey Animal Shelter. Unfortunately, the cameras at the shelter are not working, so no one can determine when or how the dog got out.
On May 28, 2015, the still unnamed dog was to be brought to the in-house vet for neutering but was nowhere to be found. He was last seen the evening before in his kennel. Shelter staff cannot account for his disappearance and he has not been seen since.
