Assemblyman Marc Steinorth (R-Rancho Cucamonga) is making good once again on a campaign promise to be a friend to shelter animals. He is paying adoption fees for the first 100 pets adopted at each of three shelters located in San Bernardino County. Up to 300 pets could be saved by this effort.
The adoption events are taking place at the Redlands Animal Shelter, Devore Animal Shelter and the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center. The events run from Aug. 28 thru 30 at Devore and Rancho Cucamonga. The Redlands facility will hold its event Aug. 28 and 29 only.
Upon taking his seat in the California State Assembly, one of the first bills Steinorth introduced was Assembly Bill 976, which will provide tax incentives for adopting certain shelter animals. This is the second time he has sponsored an adoption event in support of the bill.
