A not-so-politically-correct song about the mosque. We have not discussed the mosque much here at iePolitics. So, is it okay, or as the the song says, “a disgrace to America”?

Why is it we, American citizens, must rush to appease muslims when they make absolutely no effort to accomodate us? Do they really have the right to build there at THAT specific place? I thought “rights” were meant for US citizens. We have no information regarding their legal status, if any (and we don’t dare ask now do we?).
It is provocative to say the least, to demand to build in the chosen location. We as Americans are not denying their right to worship, after all, there are well over 100 mosques in New York city proper alone! However, why is it we must bend over backward every time they complain and cow-tow to their every whim, yet they do nothing to zero to foster good relations with us, American, the majority of which are non-muslims? If I were to make my home in their country, I wouldn’t dream of making any such demands! I would do my best to respect their customs, and assimilate into their culture, not the other way around!
There is still a question about the funding for this so-called islamic cultural center. The developer is cagey at best about the source of funding for the mosque, yet has well-documented ties to Hamas, a known terrorist entity!
I’m all for “live and let live,” multiculturalism, koombayah, etc., yada, yada, yada! But, so far, the muslim populaton (on the whole) has demonstrated zip, zero, nada to me! They do nothing but demand and insult Americans (and Westerners on the whole) at every turn!
There is nothing wrong is standing up for yourself people! Other people won’t break when you do so in a civilized manner, believe me! This is ultimately, a matter of respect, something that the developers at Ground Zero are sadly, lacking.
Amen Beaufort!!! To bad Obama doesn’t get it either. Of course 18% of Americans think he is Muslim too!!! I am begining to wonder myself.
When one of the middle eastern countries, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria etc allow us to build a Catholic, Baptist or other Christian church or place of worship in a city of our chose in there country then we should allow them to build where they want. Until then they can pack there bags and go home.
For those of you that do not know, including our president, Hamas supports this building.
Why don’t we just build a statue of Hitler in the middle of Israel I’m sure they would not mind that.
Wow you guys have obviously fell for the medias propaganda to fear and hate muslims. This whole mosque issue is a wedge issue to get the american people to infight and not pay any attention to your federal government (which includes democrates and republicans) erroding your constitution.
The reason America is so great is that we have freedoms. Freedoms to life, liberty and PROPERTY. If we get the government to say they can’t build the mosque whos to say that they can then say you can’t build your house of worship. You may not agree with the decision to build the mosque there but they have the right to.
America is not a democracy where mob rules its a republic were the rights of the minority have just as much weight as the majority.
Remember Martin Niemoeller’s famous quote “First they came for the communists and i did not speak out. Then they came for the socialist and the trade unionists and i did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews and i did not speak out. Then they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.”
Special Projects:
I think it is you who are ignorant sir. However, I do agree with the German Anti-Nazi Lutheran Pastor’s quote wholeheartedly.
Since when did it become a crime and hateful to disagree or disapprove of something? Why is it that people can come to this country, insult and vilify us and we just say, “Okay” and roll over?
No, just because someone puts forth an idea or proposal doesn’t mean that it is proper to do so and gets an automatic approval!
My hunch is that you have a seething grudge against Americans and Christianity in particular.
Beaufort:
is it me that hates Christianity and America? Someone who values the constitution. Someone who believes in individual rights. Someone who tries to love all gods people. Or are you the new patriot and are you what Christianity is about. I ask you to look in your soul and ask yourself that?
Special Projects,
You might want to go to ground zero before you die and REALLY think about 9/11, and all those innocent people and public safety people who died that day, because some MUSLIM finatics decided to do what they did in the name of ALLAH!!!
NO debate, NO discussion, NO attention diverted anywhere else. The answer is NO to your mosque being built at ground zero.
IT is called being sensative to ALL THOSE who died that day and their families.
IF you still don’t GET IT, then think of ALL those soldiers who went overseas and died trying to destroy those who were behind the 9/11 attack.
Those decent muslim people who wish to live peaceful lifes, should be telling those wanting to build the mosque, NO let’s go somewhere else out of respect for those who died.
SEEMS pretty simple to me.
Next issue will be building a NYPD sub-station near the mosque to protect it, ALL in the name of “political correctness”.
The media does not assist me in hating or fearing anything.
Special Projects –
You don’t get it. In surveys, while the majority of Americans are against building the mosque near Ground Zero, the majority of Americans also agree that the backers of the mosque have every right to do so. The problem is the location and clearly the issue is sensitivity. Most of those against building the mosque near Ground Zero are not asking the government to run interference. They are appealing directly to the backers of the mosque to please consider the feelings of the American public and build the mosque somewhere else. The governor of New York is willing to give the backers of this mosque state land to build it somewhere else, but they refuse to consider it. The backers – whoever they are – insist it has to be at that location near Ground Zero. Why? To some, it’s rubbing salt into a still fresh wound. I am a strong believer in individual freedoms. However, I would never knowingly pursue something that would cause pain to others if there were another solution that everyone could live with. There are times when compromise is not possible, but this is not one of them. Moving the mosque to another location would do much to alleviate the hard feelings that have arisen over this issue. The backers are well aware of the feelings of the American public. By insisting on going through with building the mosque near Ground Zero, when it doesn’t HAVE to be there, they are essentially thumbing their nose at the American public. The question I still want to know is, who’s funding it?
The efforts to launch the $100 million Cordoba House (now dubbed Park51) two blocks north of the World Trade Center site have been an uphill battle from the start, and not just because of controversy. And even as the “Ground Zero Mosque” emerges as a hotly debated national symbol, New York government officials and real estate insiders are privately questioning whether the project has much chance of coming to fruition.
The Cordoba Initiative hasn’t yet begun fundraising for its $100 million goal. The group’s latest fundraising report with the state attorney general’s office, from 2008, shows exactly $18,255 — not enough even for a down payment on the half of the site the group has yet to purchase.
The group also lacks even the most basic real estate essentials: no blueprint, architect, lobbyist or engineer — and now operates amid crushing negative publicity. The developers didn’t line up advance support for the project from other religious leaders in the city, who could have risen to their defense with the press.
The group’s spokesman, Oz Sultan, wouldn’t rule out developing the site with foreign money in an interview with POLITICO — but said the project’s goal is to rely on domestic funds. Currently, they have none of either

Gotta agree with special projects. If NY City residents can’t handle this battle, then it is on them. This is a local issue. Of course, there is nothing to stop the city from locating a pork slaughterhouse right next door either! See what the response time from police and fire would be to any alarms. Always subtle little things to get back at this property owner.
But NYC is a city of nincompoops. Their global world view has come home to roost. This is where you can really say Karma is a bitch.
Did we really destroy those responsible for the attacks. I don’t recall invading Saudi Arabia. Why was did norcom stand down that day. What are the odds that they would be running a drill using the same kind of scenario on the same day. Was it to cause confusion? Why did BBC report that building 7 collapsed 20 minutes before it did watch the BBC braodcast on YouTube. Why did biulding 7 collapse at all. Why did bush stay at that school after he heard of the attacks did he know he wasn’t in danger. You can read the presidents itinerary in advance. Why isn’t osama wanted for the 911 attacks look it up. Who created osama and al queada. Look it up. Why was the patriot act jammed through congress. An act that clearly violates the constitution. Who would benefit from a war.? All these questions and more. Sounds to me like a false flag operation. Something American government is notorious for. Research the gulf of tonkin. Open your eyes we
Are getting closer and closer to a police state and global government. You can think I’m a consiracy nut all I ask is do your own research and find out who the real enemy is.
Get Real, good point and AMEN!!! Seems some of the money might actually be coming from Iran and some other NOT so PRO-American countries. And your right the State of New York is more than willing to work with this group to find another location for the mosque.
I guess some of the muslims think that if they build there they have no future worries. I’d be the last one to think some of these hard core New Yorkers are going to lay down for all of this.
How bout we adopt an Arizonian type mentality to this sack of crap and have them vacated from the whole friggin country?
Special Projects: Many Americans are against building a mosque two blocks from Ground Zero. They understand it’s offensive to build an Islamic mosque near the ground where muslims undertook the worst domestic attack on American soil in its history. Most Americans believe in freedom of religion, but they intuitively understand the proposed mosque at Ground Zero isn’t about that.
Rather than debating whether or not Muslims should be allowed to build a mosque at Ground Zero, they do have a Constitutional right to do so, by the way. But why build in THAT location? The very purpose of the proposed mosque’s proximity to Ground Zero, where Muslims killed nearly 3,000 people, IS THE VERY REASON IT’S BEING BUILT IN THAT LOCATION!
As mentioned in a previous post, there are some 100 odd mosques scattered throughout New York City. The developer, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, is keenly aware of the public discomfort regarding the decision to build at Ground Zero. He staunchly rejected NY Governor David Patterson’s offer of state land in return for relocating the mosque elsewhere, away from Ground Zero.
Folks, what’s happening is the ISLAMIZATION of America. The developers demand for a mosque at Ground Zero is a test to see just how much we’ll accommodate them! Did you know that muslims have a 100-year plan to overthrow the United States? Their plan will be accomplished incrementally, of course, so there will be little or no resistance from Americans until it is too late.
This 100-year plan is well underway. For example, airports throughout the country have installed footbaths expressly for use by Muslims so they don’t wash their feet in lavatory washbasins. Huge mosques and islamist schools or “madrassas” have been built all over the country where they preach hatred against western modernity. Their ultimate goal is to implement “sharia law” making it the law of the land (bye, bye U.S. constitution!). Sharia law discriminates against ALL non-Muslims, women and homosexuals, for example. Non-muslims or rather those who do not convert will become “dhimmis” subject to “dhimmitude” and thus be required by sharia law pay a tax (or penalty fees) for being non-muslim, because they will be in essence, second-class citizens!
Think it can’t happen here? It’s coming folks, and with people like ‘Special Projects’ and ‘Unwilling’ for example, it should be a snap! In 2008, the United Kingdom determined that sharia law could be enforced in Muslim enclaves (that’s communities, Special Projects and Unwilling). In Canada and Europe, sharia family tribunals are operating in full force. Recently, in Germany, a judge there ruled that a muslim man who had killed his wife could go free, since the Koran permits such acts!
The proposed $100 million mosque near the site of the World Trade Center is another piece in the wall of a bigger picture. It is critical that Americans understand just what the building of this mosque means to over a billion muslims worldwide.
Did you know that since the beginning of Islam, after muslims conquered another culture, it was customary to build a huge mosque as a victory symbol? When muslims conquered Cordoba (what’s now known as modern Spain, Special Projects and Unwilling), they built the Grand Cordoba Mosque where a Christian church once stood. It was there that they established their caliphate, the center of Muslim rule in the Mediterranean region. The original name of the proposed Ground Zero mosque? “The Cordoba House.”
For thousands of years Muslims have also destroyed places considered holy to those they’d conquered as a way to erase prior history and culture. In Afghanistan, ancient 2,000-year-old Buddhist statues were detonated and destroyed. It’s happening now in central Europe in Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia, etc. So, the pattern repeats, in Damascus, the Ummayad mosque was built on the site of the church of Saint John; India, the Babri Mosque was built by demolishing a Hindu temple at the site of Lord Rama’s birthplace.
As we blog herein, churches in Egypt and Yugoslavia are being turned into mosques. And in Jerusalem, the Al Aqsa mosque was deliberately built near the Temple Mount, one of holiest places in Judaism. The funding of the Cordoba House community center/mosque comes from Saudi charities and Middle Eastern princes who regularly fund Wahabbi madrassas and mosques worldwide!
Wahabbism is the most extremist form of Islam. Thus, this mosque will become a monument to islam. It’s not a coincidence that Ground Zero is its target.
Special Projects, I know you are fond of quotations, so I’ll leave you with the words of George Santayana. “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
Instinctively, I know you will not be swayed either by reason nor history.
you got it Beaufort….America is ASLEEP….
Beaufort, Americans think that all people around the world think basically like we do. If we can just convince these people that we want what is best for them, then they will be our friends. At the same time, we forget that we think nothing like our own founding fathers nor the world war two generation that catipulted this nation into worldwide promenance.
On the other hand, forces that want the world to be different than we do have no qualms about studying our thinking, identifying our vulnerabilities, and using them against us.
It is true. If the proponents of the ground zero mosque were truely interested in the thinking of America and assimilating into it, then they would abandon building the ground zero mosque.
Given that they are not thus asimilating into American thinking, what is the thinking that they are trying to bring forward?
Beaufort, I could be mistaken – and I’m sure he’ll correct me if I am – but Unwilling is not sympathizing with the backers of the mosque… he’s merely agreeing with Special Projects that they have the constitutional right to build the mosque. As I posted earlier, there is no disagreement with the majority of the American public in this regard.
When Unwilling calls NYC “a city of nincompoops,” I believe he’s referring to the liberal leanings of the populace and “their global world view” as being in line with Obama, who seems to think that if he kisses enough Muslim butts, just maybe we can all be friends and get along. Unwilling seems to imply (to me, anyway) that the people of NYC are getting what they deserve by holding this rather simplistic view.
Unwilling, not everyone in NYC are nincompoops. There are some very good people, not all of them living in NYC, who lost relatives, coworkers, etc., in 9/11. Though I don’t live there, I do feel their pain. You say it’s a local issue, but it’s not. The backers of that mosque are telling all of America, not just NYC, exactly what they think of us by placing that mosque where the majority of the American public do not want to see it. There is not one other place in the entire United States they could build that mosque that would have the same effect on the American people as building that mosque near Ground Zero. Furthermore, while Americans living outside NYC won’t have to look at it every day like the residents of NYC will, this doesn’t mean the American public can’t sympathize with and lend their emotional support to those who would be adversely affected by it.
By the way, I know you don’t really mean it when you suggest that the Police/Fire Department would be slow to respond to an alarm at the mosque and perhaps, in the process, contribute to the loss of life. Sharia law may be “an eye for an eye,” but we don’t think that way in this Country and I personally don’t know a single cop or firefighter who would not respond just as quickly to an alarm at the mosque as they would somewhere else.
Finally, Special Projects, how nice that you “try to love all God’s children.” Does that include the individuals who caused 9/11 and those who support their views? Just wondering…
