iePolitics: Changes in the blog

Change is in the air again for iePolitics.  I have the opportunity to write for several national on-line news sources.  I am not going to go into detail yet because I still have to pass the background check with one and firm up the details with the others.  They are freelance positions and I will maintain the property rights to my work.

What this means for all of you is that my work will be cross-posted here.  There are several reasons for that.

I will be writing a local politics column every other day for one site.  That site receives 17,000,000 hits a month.  Cross-posting will allow me to increase my blog readership while building the readership for the new column.

This also means that I want to spruce up the site a bit.  I hope to find a new theme and add a few features.  Since January I’ve gone minimalist due to my health and time constraints.  But it is time to get past all of what has happened this past year and whip this blog back into shape.

One of my priorities is to add a blogroll back onto the main page.  If you have a political website, send me the link.  Or, if you have a favorite political website, send me that link.  I will also be adding links to all campaign websites for local and state offices.

And that brings me to the part of this post I write with trepidation.  There must be a masochistic aspect to my personality.

It is political season again, and as such, it is time to let the candidates post their information.  If you are a candidate or consultant and would like an account to post your campaign information, email me at sharon@iepolitics.com.  I will set it up with a few days.

I am going to make one change in policy this time around and that is I am going to stay out of the fray and allow the candidates to get as down and dirty as they choose.  The type of campaign a candidate chooses to run says more about a person than all the slick campaign fliers in the world.  I might just as well let true colors come out.  All candidates and consultants are welcome whether we have had differences in the past or not.

  1. Sharon, You’re misapprehending your market. People come to this blog for LOCAL 909 perspectives, info and gossip. I’ve only been a reader for a few months, but I’ve enjoyed your postings and I think you truly do touch upon many important issues that the Sun and Daily Distort completely miss. But if you think I’m going to come to this page for national news or general news or commentary, you’re sadly mistaken. I have about 50 favorites which cover those bases. Please stick to your roots: villifying the incompetence, arrogance, and corruption in the 909.

  2. Doc, you might like this format because it’s so sterile, but I personally miss the Wild Wild West of Politics “gunslinger” motif. What ever happened to those whistle-blowing medical contractors over at ARMC?
