Sam Berdoo: Jason Desjardins’ Theft Trial Continued to Augst 5th

It seems like Jason keeps kicking the can down the road with continuance after continuance.  I wonder how Desjardins, who is something of a “Houdini” by escaping from one mess to another, is going to some how escape from this one.  Jason is a cat with nine lives.  Here, as in the alleged LA County rape cases, Jason is blaming this on dirty politics by his former opponent and the Mayor.  According to public reports, Jason was seen by witnesses and recorded on video tape, stealing the political signs of Mayor Morris and his opponent in broad day light.

iePolitics: Another One Bites the Dust?

We are hearing that San Bernardino County Auditor-Controller/Recorder terminated his assistant Betsy Starbuck today.  Betsy has been with Larry since at least 1991 when she served as Chief of Staff while he was Chairman of the Board of Supervisors.  Rumors have been surfacing for months about discord between Walker and Starbuck over deputy recorder and mistress Deanna Thompson.

Like we mentioned earlier this week, selective prosecution is alive and well in San Bernardino County.  As Mark Gluglueck pointed our below, not all lawbreakers are treated equally, especially if the lawbreaker is a cop.

Former sheriff Gary Penrod accumulated compromising information and materials pertaining to district attorney Mike Ramos which was then utilized to blackmail Ramos and head off an incipient effort by the district attorney’s office to file criminal charges against Penrod pertaining to a host of criminal acts the sheriff was himself involved in.
