iePolitics: Racism and Cops

I have received about six emails containing racist/sexist material in the past hour that is being passed around by members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Fontana Police Department and others.  There were names you would recognize, including current and former council members, etc.  Some of this stuff is absolutely appalling like the picture of Obama with a tail and jokes that no black person can hold a job for four years.  Anyone who claims that racial profiling and sexual harassment are a figment of our imagination should see what cops find funny.  And the worst part, some of those involved are supervisors and higher. iePolitics: Use of County Computer Equipment by Sheriff’s Officials

Some of you may have been reading the exchange between Grunt, Taylor, Phulakes and Sharon St. John.  And you may think it is just a few people having some fun.  I haven’t said anything because I’ve been too busy.  Then I get an email today.  This email has been all over the place on county computers at the Sheriff’s Department as well as individuals such as a chief of police, Fontana Councilperson, etc.   Many of the names you would recognize because they are regular subjects of our posts.  And in that email entitled “Motivational Posters” were these images among others:

iePolitics: Republican Women’s Newsletter

For those who have not seen the newsletter, here it is:  June2010. The reason I asked about a good email data base program is because I had so many problems managing our list this month.  One of the problems has been rejected emails.  I am in the process of sending the newsletter manually to every address that rejected it as spam, etc.  So if you should have received a copy of it and didn’t, let me know at sharon@iePolitics.com. Mark Averbeck: Vote for Sheriff Mark Averbeck

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has either openly supported me or secretly supported me for the Sheriff/Coroner election. Here in America we have a choice to vote for the best candidate to lead our organization with a Strategic Plan. Our current Appointed Sheriff said during our SEBA forum on October 7, 2009,”If it isn’t broke don’t fix it.” Deputy Schrader hinted about issues such as we will check the feasibility of bringing canines back, transparency, and a fresh start.

As voters you get to make the call on Tuesday June 8, 2010, which candidate you want to lead the Sheriff’s Department. Leadership is to do the right thing, at the right time, to strengthen and advance the organization. Everyone should get involved and vote regardless of which candidate you believe has the tools necessary to be our Sheriff. Remember winners make it happen and losers let it happen.
I am asking for your vote on June 8th to be that leader.

iePolitics: So as SBPEA DOESN’T fight for its employees . . .

We hear that staff members of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors are being cut.  But unlike with general county employees whose positions are being cut, these folks are being found special positions with an emphasis on not losing pay.  Rumor has it that Matt Brown is being sent to the Auditor/Controller’s office, which means he would be working for another elected official and be untouchable by Supervisor Biane once Biane finds out the extent to which Matt narc’d or attempted to narc him off.  We hear Mark Kirk is going to the County Administrative Office and John Richardson to County Counsel.  Josie did what Josie is so good at doing.  She simply fired someone on her staff.  Neil offered a transfer to one of his staff members but she left the county instead.  We will see if these rumors pan out or not.  We know the rumors about the Third and Fifth Districts have already come true. iePolitics: A Few Worried Souls – Revised

Yep, that is right.  There are a few people who are shopping this weekend for leak-proof undergarments.   Monday the Rex Gutierrez criminal trial will be underway.

Let’s see . . . first up is our favorite yellow singing Canary, Confidential Informant No. 1, “persona au gratin,” the star witness for the prosecution  . . . Adam Aleman.  I wonder which stories he will tell next week.  There is such a long list of them.  Maybe it will be the one about the off-shore bank accounts. By the way Adam, Bill and Jim found their debit cards so they don’t need your help after all.  Or perhaps it is the $1.02 million Jim Brulte received in kickbacks.  Or the rat trap left on your porch.  The bullet through the mail, maybe? Oh, the list is endless. Continue reading

iePolitics: Advice Needed from Computer Geeks

Can anyone suggest a really good program to use to store an address book.  It will contain names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and much more for around 15,000 people and needs to be compatible with my PC, Mac, and Blackberry. I want something that easily syncs all three and allows me to use the information in a variety of email programs, Word documents, plain text files, and Pages documents.
