I finally have a link to his website: Art Bustamonte I have to say he has jumped to the top of my list with his Grand Jury complaint against Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. I hope the Grand Jury listens because I don’t think the Board of Supervisors cares.

iePolitics: ARMC – Time For Action
Yesterday we witnessed something at the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors session that we don’t see often. Subordinates of a sort spoke out against their administrator. Dr. John Steinmann, an orthopedic spine surgeon, and Dr. Keyvan Safdari, an anesthesiologist, both spoke of heavy handedness and retaliation by Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) Medical Director, Dr. Dev Gnanadev.
Steinmann indicated to the members of the Board of Supervisors that patient care is suffering as a result of Gnanadev’s leadership. As we have discussed here repeatedly, retaliation is the name of the game at ARMC, a practice likely initiated and certainly promulgated by former County Administrative Officer Mark Uffer. And now we learn it is more true than we realized. Continue reading
iePolitics: What does the Sun owe to county politicians?
I will not publish the Sun‘s endorsements here. You will have to look for them yourself. I am completely disgusted with them. You can tell there was no point in challengers even bothering to show up.
For a paper that sometimes rails against county corruption, one would think all Board of Supervisors-appointed incumbents would be looked at as suspect. But the paper is endorsing incumbents across the board, except maybe superintendent as that has yet to be announced. Instead of being a watchdog for the public, it has become a lapdog for the Board of Supervisors and appointed officials. Continue reading
iePolitics: Special Treatment at ARMC
When I read yesterday “And Comunale said not renewing the anesthesiology contract – which is held by one of Comunale’s relatives – is ‘just a vendetta on GnanaDev’s part’” in the San Bernardino Sun, I assumed the vendetta was against Comunale. Well it turns out I was wrong.
As mentioned in the last Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) article I wrote, San Bernardino County Supervisor Paul Biane had two MRI’s under anesthesia at the hospital. As we have been reporting, board members frequently have procedures done without charting so that they do not have to pay for the procedures or co-pays. And Biane expected the same in this instance. But the anesthesiologist refused to complete the procedure without charting. So Biane doesn’t want the contract renewed. And Biane and Gnanadev cover for one another. Are you listening Mike Ramos?
iePolitics: Question for Court Employees/Law Offices
My attorney’s office filed a peremptory writ of mandate on my behalf almost a month ago (actually, as of today at least 20 days) at the San Bernardino Courthouse. The clerk’s office says they are “too busy” to actually file it, conform a copy, and enter it into the computer. Last week they said they might get to it this week and this week they say they might get to it next week. They did say they will backdate it to the actual day it was brought into the courthouse. Meanwhile, it can’t be served and time will not start running until it is served. Continue reading

iePolitics: Newspaper Calls for Town Councilman’s Resignation
Apple Valley Town Councilman Rick Roelle has been the subject of an article or two here at iePolitics usually in connection with his behavior as a member of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Most recently, he was featured in our Legacy of Malfeasance series, Part Four.
He is now embroiled in a controversy with the Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce where he has accused the Chamber of racism. Here is the Daily Press‘ take on the subject: Continue reading
iePolitics: SEBA Strong-arming Its Members?
iePolitics is receiving reports that Safety Employees Benefit Association (SEBA) members are receiving calls from SEBA brass advising that SEBA is sending people by their homes to put on Rod Hoops signs in their yards. Apparently, employees are NOT being given a choice and employees who resist will be reported to Sheriff Hoops. Doesn’t this violate something?
iePolitics: Nothing political about this . . .
I could imagine what a 12-year-old boy could do with a Lady Gaga song to stir up such interest on the web, but my curiosity got the best of me and I had to take a look. This kid is incredibly talented.
