Mark Averbeck’s Letter to the Citizens of San Bernardino County

Today I had the pleasure of speaking to the Editorial Staff of the Press Enterprise regarding who they will endorse for the San Bernardino County Sheriff/Coroner Election.   It was a very interesting forum with all three candidates being present. Sheriff Hoops was very kind and professional. Paul Schrader was friendly and did a good job as well. I was pleased with the answers I gave to the panel.
We are all working hard to try and convince the voters that we are the best candidate to serve our citizens.

After the event I spoke to Paul regarding his utilizing the San Bernardino County Logo on his picture. I told him once again I thought he was misleading the voters because the inference is he is already a member of the San Bernardino Sheriffs Department. I asked him if he made up his mind whether he was going to pull the logo or continue to use it. Paul said it is a marketing tool and he sees no problem with it since Sheriff Hoops uses a picture of a helicopter with the logo on his web site.

I think Paul is comparing apples and oranges. Sheriff Hoops served our County for 32 years and he is the current Appointed Sheriff/Coroner. Paul on the other hand never even worked an eight hour shift as a jail Deputy nor patrol Deputy for San Bernardino County. I told him I thought it was wrong and this is why I wanted to share the information with the readers of IE Politics.

I also asked Paul where is he currently working for Los Angeles County on patrol or where? He said he was working on a merger team but the actual duties weren’t very clear. I believe Paul should let everyone know his experience, years of service in patrol, criminal investigations, etc. He should be proud of his accomplishments what ever they are ,and share them with the voters ASAP.

I would also like to see a strategic plan from him so we know what we can expect from him if he wins. Today he spoke about retraining the Deputies to help the homeless people rather than just telling them to move along. I wonder what he would like the Deputies to do to solve the homeless problem?
I think it is great that Candidate Paul Schrader is running because that is his right as an American. I firmly believe he is intentionally misleading the voters and misrepresenting himself by using the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Logo. If you feel the same way I do then please call Paul Schrader and let him know. He is kind enough to talk to anyone who calls him and I think he should hear from the citizens of this County as well as the Deputies who serve this County. Paul’s number is on his web site and it is (909)732-6964.

Kind Regards,

Mark Averbeck

iePolitics: Lemkau/Hosking Race

This race seems to be turning into a “lesser of two evils” race.  We all know Judge Lemkau’s claim to fame.   Now we are finding that Hosking is supported by many of the evil doers in this county.  If someone could email copies of both of  their 460s I would greatly appreciate it.  We don’t need to go from bad to worse.

We are going to look much closer to this race in the next week or so.  Feedback on either would be greatly appreciated.
