As if anyone with an ounce of intelligence couldn’t see it coming, the obvious was revealed this evening.

Matt Brown, Chief of Staff to Second District Supervisor Paul Biane has a civil attorney. The attorney being none other than Sanford Kassel. Continue reading

Mark Averbeck: Public Information Act Requests

Public Information Act Requests

I think the time has come to update everyone regarding the Public Information Act requests I submitted to San Bernardino County Auditor Controller, San Bernardino County District Attorneys Office, and Peace Officers Standards and Training.

Section 6250 of the California Public Records Act says: Continue reading

iePolitics: Attention Acquanetta Warren

Acquanetta,

I really hope you are going to be willing to support our boycott of Barb’s show.  I see you are scheduled for tomorrow.  Barb and her group are subjecting voters and candidates to harassment and bigotry.  Perhaps currently she is not attacking African Americans or women, but it only takes one wrong move for anyone to get on her list.  This is not a Republican or Democratic issue.  This is an issue of civility and appropriate behavior.  It would be a shame for you to associate yourself  with something so hateful and negative.

iePolitics: Thank You Sheriff Rod Hoops

Sheriff Hoops,

Thank you for backing out of the debate sponsored by Barb.  I don’t care if it was for the reason stated in Paul’s press release or if you, too, were as offended as so many of the rest of us by her bigotry and hatred.  It would have been a travesty to have a debate sponsored by Barb where the candidates and attendees alike would have been subjected to being called pedophiles and worst.  Barb, ET Snell, Al Vogler and Paul Bosacki have tried to make a mockery of this election cycle.  It is harassment of the worst kind and no voter should be subjected to it in a public forum.  As I have been talking to friends about attending events, many are fearful because of the accosting that has been perpetrated by Barb and her group. Candidate for Sheriff Paul Schrader says, “Let’s Roll on Community Debates for Sheriff’s candidates in San Bernardino County!”

From the Headquarters of Paul Schrader, Candidate for Sheriff-Coroner, San Bernardino County.

Date May 5th, 2010

Let’s Roll on Community Debates for Sheriff’s candidates in San Bernardino County!”

Voters hoping for a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s candidate debates before deciding who to support in next month’s election are out of luck so far. Candidate Paul Schrader Sheriff/Coroner had worked with local radio talk show host Barb Stanton to schedule a forum in May at Victor Valley College with candidates Rod Hoops and Mark Averback. All three candidates had agreed back in April to appear in this forum. Barb Stanton was informed on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, by David Ellis, Hoops’ campaign manager, that Hoops would not participate in the forum. Ms. Stanton asked why and Mr. Ellis said neither of the other candidates have enough money for us to be concerned with it.

I believe the voters need the opportunity to see the differences in the candidates. I believe in voter choice and I think the statement regarding who has enough money, shows a disconnect by the current administration with the voters in the county.

iePolitics: Another Fine Pickle

Just when we think the corruption scandal involving the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors can’t possibly get better, it always does.  The most recent revelation is fromof Second District Chief of Staff, Matt Brown.  He confessed on Monday to being one of the informants against his boss, Supervisor Paul Biane.  And he claims he is being retaliated against for the same.

The fact that Matt is an informant is hardly breaking news.  Anyone with their handy-dandy Cracker Jack super-sleuth ring could have figured that one out.  San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos and California Attorney General Jerry Brown might have just as well dimed him out back on February 10, 2010, for diming out his boss.  The complaint, that pretended to be anything but transparent, was one of the most transparent documents we have witnessed in recent San Bernardino County history. iePolitics: CPRA Status

This morning I received information on some of my California Public Records Act requests so I can get back to my Legacy of Malfeasance series.  I am first going to attempt to contact the Sheriff’s Executive staff for some clarification on a few things that some of you have tipped me off to.  I don’t hold much hope for them talking to me, but I am going to try before we publish the rest of the series. iePolitics: My First Tea Party

I attended my first tea party tonight.  It was actually last night as it is now 12:27 a.m.  Tim Donnelly, candidate for 59th Assembly District, was present and I had a few minutes to chat with him.  I promised him a positive article and there will be one . . . tomorrow, actually later today.  Right now I’m too tired and still have a long drive home.

I can see why people are hooked on the tea parties.  I do have a question for the candidates.  Why aren’t more of you attending the tea parties?  It’s a chance to meet people who absolutely vote and are passionate about it.  I didn’t notice any of the stereotypes that mainstream media lead us to believe about the tea parties.  It was just a lot of people who care about their government and want to see positive change.

Goodnight to all!  More about this and Matt and Barb and whatever else comes our way tomorrow.  Hopefully, some good enchiladas and salsa too!
