iePolitics: Yet Another Thank You . . . To the Powers That Be in San Bernardino County

Jim and I were discussing the fact that blog hits are remaining steady at an all-time high and have done so for a number of weeks now.  But they have shifted too.  Ever since the county started blocking the blogs for line staff computers, our biggest blog hit hours have changed.  It starts around 5 a.m. and stays high until 7 a.m.  Starting around  7 a.m. the Fifth Floor and department heads start looking at the blogs.  HR starts copying entries anywhere from 7:30 to 9:30 and again later in the afternoon.  The hits pick up again mid day but get really high around 6 p.m. and go to 10 p.m.

We are also seeing way more Blackberry hits and cellular modem hits.  Lots of people tell me they bring their laptops to work so they can check the blog periodically throughout the day.  It seems the harder the county tries to keep employees away from the blogs, the more determined employees become.  And our hits keep growing and growing.

I have a new funny to tell but have to wait just a bit.  It seems Hoops is really helping us get hits when he is trying to do just the opposite.  Rod, you have really helped my blog grow tremendously.  Thank you.

  1. If the Sheriff’s Dept. and Rod Hoops have nothing to hide as was said in the memo, then why do they block it from their websites? If you are not afraid and above reproach then there would be nothing anyone could say to discredit that. Other news websites are not blocked such as The Sun. The more they try to block it, the more people become curious about it, especially cops. I think that is funny that you get more Blackberry hits as I believe all the Captains, Lieutenants and some others including civilian Dept. heads have Blackberries and I am doubting the website is blocked from them, but it is from their office computer.
