iePolitic: My Life on the Public Dole

Well I had my Food Stamp interview today and was approved.  Not too hard when one hasn’t had a paycheck of any sort in two months.  So I get my EBT card on Wednesday.

Applying was easy.  The application on line and the phone interview today took about a total of an hour.  The EW was very nice, not like some I know. Continue reading

iePolitics: 59th Assembly District Candidate Forum

The Lake Arrowhead Republican Women Federated will be holding a candidate’s forum at the monthly luncheon meeting on April 16, 2010, at the Lake Arrowhead Country Club.  The cost is $17 and reservations can be made by contacting Jody Atwood at (909) 336-2676.  I will update this entry with deadline and confirmed candidates as soon as I hear back from Jody.

The Lake Arrowhead Country Club is a great place for a meeting.  The food is excellent and it’s a beautiful drive up there!  It’s small so you get to see the candidates up close and personal.  I’m going to try my best to be there.  Join the fun!

InlandPolitics: S.B. County: Defense panel contributes nearly $100,000 to Ramos

Ramos

Several months ago stories ran here and on iePolitics.com exposing substantial political contributions to Ramos by two attorneys who control the San Bernardino County criminal defense conflict panel.

The two attorneys James Spring and Earl Carter have showered Ramos with money either directly or through their recently formed firm of Carter, Spring, Schank & O’Connor.

Campaign finance records filed by Ramos with the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters show on January 15, 2010 the new firm dropped another $10,000 into the Ramos re-election committee. The recent contribution brings the total that Spring and Carter has directed to Ramos to $93,000 since January 1, 2004

Ramos receievd $30,000 of the total from June 9, 2009 trough January 15, 2010. Continue reading

iePolitics: Montgomery v. Stull

I was sent a campaign fundraiser flyer for Superior Court Judicial candidate Victor Stull.  You can see it here:  Stull Fundraiser ACC

There are a number of reasons why voters should look at the Stull campaign with suspicion and I will go into those soon.  For now, a couple of items on this flyer stand out.

First, the fundraiser is being hosted by Mike Ramos, Rod Hoops, and Presiding Judge Doug Elwell.  Of the three, the only one who has any business hosting and supporting a judicial candidate is Judge Elwell.  The sheriff and district attorney have no business trying to hand select judges. iePolitics: The Anthony Riley Document

As both Ken Hunter, candidate for the 59th Assembly District, and John Wurm, Ken’s campaign manager, have indicated, John has sent me a five-page document about opponent Anthony Riley.  Unfortunately, because it was sent in .pdf format, I cannot reprint it on the blog, but you can see it here:  Anthony Riley

Last week I commented that I really like Ken Hunter as a candidate but I was concerned with his connection to Barb Stanton and the unethical means she and her followers use to fight corruption.  I have long contended that using unethical means to fight the unethical makes one as unethical as those they challenge.  The document I received from the Hunter campaign is a perfect example of my point. Ed Montgomery: Press Release

iePolitics: A Legacy of Malfeasance – Part 3

As the scandal regarding the falsified training documents committed by members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department grows, the significance of it becomes more concerning.  The theft of public funds by those who are hired to serve and protect and uphold the law is serious enough.  But the fact that deputies and above do not have the certification to be officers is even more serious.

In other words, when a deputy does not take the classes he is required to take and is given an unearned certificate, he is NOT entitled to be an officer.  He is NOT entitled to carry a badge or gun or make arrests or testify as an officer of the court any more so than an average citizen.  This scandal undermines our county’s entire justice system. Red County: An Oldie But Goodie, Part 2: Don Kurth’s Love Affair with Barrack Obama

AD 63 UPDATE: “Mr. Jones And Me…Strumming Through The Barrio…”

By El Caudillo | 01/17/09

Latest posts from your county…

…The barrrio, yes…The Floor of the California State Assembly, not so much.

Any reader remember this tremendous Counting Crows song from 1994?.

Of course you do….Right?

Please say yes, or else I will really feel old…

Anyway, last night  “El Caudillo” posted this wonderful Red County entry detailing how Rancho Cucamonga Mayor Don Kurth, an (ostensibly) Republican candidate for the 63rd Assembly District’s Republican Party nomination in the June 2010 primary election was gushing and salivating over the upcoming inauguration of Democratic President-elect Barack Obama and Obama’s cabinet of Hillary Rodham Clinton, Hilda Soils, and Eric Holder. Mayor Kurth is in Washington to personally witness and cheerlead the first Democratic presidential inaugural in twelve years. Continue reading
