iePolitics: Buying a Dog Licence Should Not Require a Root Canal

The Inland Valley Humane Society is not a governmental owned organization, but they are a subcontractor of services from many cities throughout the region. Getting a dog license for my sister who moved from Nevada is becoming more laborious than having a root canal done on your mouth.

Recently my neighbor got robbed and a suspicious man parked near the front of my home for three straight days. My neighbor across the street questioned the man and we found out he was a license investigator. Then I asked my sister was her dog licensed, she said no so I decided to start out the paperwork towards getting her corgi legal. Continue reading

iePolitics: Layoffs and TAP and TAD

If there are any employees who actually believe there will be no layoffs, I have some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you.  Former county administrative officer Mark Uffer has left a mess behind so much so that some are starting to feel sorry for his replacement Greg Devereaux and the almost impossible mess he has to clean up.

This fiscal year it will not be a matter of layoffs OR giving up our raises.  It will either be both or massive layoffs.  Let’s see how Bob Blough explains this one away.  But that is not the real point of this post.

iePolitics: FPPC Compliants

Received a letter from the Fair Political Practices Commission today that either I didn’t read closely enough or I didn’t word my complaint clearly enough, but the bottom line is that the complaints will be resubmitted this week.  Not sure what I did as the letter didn’t seem to address the complaint.  Anyway, there is no way they are getting off that easy.

iePolitics: Count Down to D-Day, Day 15

Well things are getting more interesting by the moment.  And unfortunately, until the documents are filed with the court, I can’t announce what is going on.  Let’s just say our favorite Confidential Informant No. 1 “persona au gratin” the yellow singing canary extraordinaire has some company on the hot seat.  Well, actually quite a bit of company, but only one other person who has even more to lose than he has.  And that would be co-conspirator Mikey Ramos.

Mikey is in quite a predicament.  He can drop all charges and leave the voting public wondering why.  Or he can fess up to what he has done and let the voting public find out just how much he lied to the voting public.  Not a good place to be days before the primary.

iePolitics: I’m so proud of myself!

And I’m not being facetious, sarcastic or anything but serious.  Did you all read the very last page of former County Administrative Officer Mark Uffer’s 160-page diatribe alleging that he has been a whistleblower all along and he was fired for all his good deeds?  It was my email to Mark Uffer, calling him a liar.  And I did it on county time and on a county computer.  I’m so proud of myself! iePolitics: An Open Letter to Mark Kirk

Since you won’t open my emails and text messages . . .

I had a sleepless night Saturday.  After going through Mark Uffer’s 160 pages of baloney, there were some things I couldn’t get off my mind.

The “questions” that Uffer suggested for the Grand Jury about the blog explained a few things.  I’m not clear if they actually asked you or anyone else those questions.  Those are pretty bizarre questions to ask in a criminal investigation. Continue reading

iePolitics: Thank You Deputy Morales

My thoughts of walking to the Library each day went up in smoke on Saturday when I ran out of gas part way between the Library and home.  Not sure why it happened as I put enough gas in to go 30 miles and hadn’t even traveled 15 and my gauge was not as low as I have seen it several times recently, but I ran out anyway.  So I walked home, got the gas can, siphoned gas out of the generator and walked back to the truck with probably a whole pint of gas to put in.  Fortunately the truck started and I got turned around and headed for the gas station.  Of course the truck didn’t make it, but it got me closer than I expected on a pint.

Mike Morrell: Morrell Leads All Candidates in Donors from 63rd District

Outraises all other candidates this quarter

Upland, California – Conservative candidate Mike Morrell, a 25-year small businessman and job creator, far outpaces his rivals for the Republican nomination in district-based donors. The March 17 finance report shows that he has the strongest base of local support and the best ability to encourage new voters to become involved in the Republican party. Continue reading

InlandPolitics: S.B. County budget deficit explodes, foreshadows pay cuts and layoffs

San Bernardino County’s main strength over the past several years has been touted by it’s administrative team as being in the area of “financial management”.

Apparently this hasn’t been the case. The term “smoke and mirrors” may be more appropriate.

What has been described as one financial landmine blowing up after another is the current situation at the county’s Arrowhead Avenue Government Center. The situation seems to indicate the county’s Unrestricted “General Purpose Reserve” may have vanished into thin air. It would appear faulty budget practices and assumptions have not only made the proposal to cancel all employee raises for the foreseeable future problematic, now layoffs have become a rapidly developing reality.

Well now the long-awaited Uffer claim has hit the presses will all the fan fare one would expect.

The April fool’s day filing is only fitting.

Let’s get this straight. Mr. Uffer wants to be made whole until his claim/case is resolved, meaning he wants full pay and benefits to continue beyond his one year severance.
