Paul Schrader: Fiscal Conservative-San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department

I would like to bring a Fresh Start to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department financing and budgeting reviews. I will appoint a volunteer committee to review the audit and devise solutions to maximize the use of funds currently being spent in the Sheriff’s Department, especially to make available the maximum amount of technology and resources to the Deputies working in the field and in the jails.

I will be exploring the possibility of using resources such video cameras in high-crime areas, electronic monitoring systems, shot spotters, and an automatic license plate recognition system to identify stolen vehicles. The feasibility of adding K-9′s and volunteers into the ranks will also be explored.

Go to my website at sheriffpaul.net, join my team and together we can make a fresh start.

Maggie Campbell: Elect Navy Veteran, Maggie Campbell for State Assembly AD36

The problems facing California requires a new energy, a new focus, a new perspective and a new face.  Navy Veteran Maggie Campbell is the right person at the right time to move our State forward.

Maggie Campbell is the leader needed in the 36th Assembly District who will “put families first”, by fighting for jobs, housing, healthcare, education, safety, solutions for the foreclosure crisis and improved services for our veterans and seniors. Continue reading

It’s your voice, it’s your choice

My name is Dennis H. Labadie and I am asking you to elect me Supervisor of San Bernardino County’s 2nd District. The 2nd District includes the communities of Crestline, West Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Lytle Creek, San Antonio Heights, Mt. Baldy Village and Devore.

As the publisher/editor of a newspaper, I have reported on the politics of this county for nearly a decade. I have intimate knowledge of the inner workings of our county government and how it interacts with local communities and the public. I am widely recognized as uniquely qualified to bring strong leadership to San Bernardino County.

I am an entrepreneur who understands the importance of balancing revenue and expense; who acknowledges the significance of being responsive to the needs of the voters; and who embraces the necessity for innovation in order to effectively meet the ongoing certainty of change. Most importantly, underlying these initiatives, I embrace the pressing need for ethical behavior and fiscal responsibility.

I believe in you, the people of this county, and seek your vote in the June 8 primary. Together, through the power of the ballot, we can:
     • Put an end to hundreds of thousands of tax payer dollars that are continuously wasted in this county on corruption investigations and redirect those dollars to other pressing needs within the county—the corruption must end!
     • Demand that county officials place the highest priority on job development in a way that supports both labor and business.
     • Seek innovation relative to energy production and consumption in ways that will encourage entrepreneurs, improve the environment, meet the needs of the citizens, and provide increased employment opportunities.
     • Authorize the board to work with community leaders to reconcile immigration conflicts within the county.
     • Call for an expanded focus relative to the redevelopment of blighted areas across the county.
     • Require limits on both campaign financing and spending.
     • Insist that the responsibilities and limits of the office of San Bernardino County Supervisor are clearly defined and subject to monitoring by an ethical oversight committee that is appointed by and works in compliance with the District Attorney’s Integrity Unit.

I need your support on June 8, 2010. It is your voice. It is your choice. My name is Dennis H. Labadie. Elect me for 2nd District Supervisor, and together we will work for a better future.

iePolitics: Liar, Liar and Yet One More Liar

If Rex Gutierrez actually makes it to trial as scheduled, and yes I doubt the case will go to trial, it will be a lesson in lack of ethics and integrity amongst county and former county employees and I’m not talking about Rex.

First up will be Confidential Informant No. 1, our illustrious “Persona Au Gratin,” singing Canary extraodinaire  Adam Aleman, who if he has the misfortune of making it to the witness stand will be able to impress jurors with his magnificant command of the English language, especially the big words he likes to throw around whether he knows what they mean or not.  The jury will be entertained at least. iePolitics: Candidates

I’ve sent every candidate that I can find an email address for an invitation to have their own account on the blog.  If you didn’t receive an email it either ended up in spam or I was not able to locate an email address for you.  Feel free to contact me at sharon@iepolitics.com and I will set that up for you.

The one exception is that I did not contact Central Committee candidates because there are so many and few people have an interest or even know what they do.  If someone would like to write an article explaining the Central Committees, I’m sure our readers would enjoy it.  And if you are a candidate for one of the Central Committees, you are also welcome to an account.  I know most voters have no clue.  Send me an email and I will set it up.

iePolitics: Attention Candidates and Bloggers

For the candidates:  I have added accounts for everyone I have received a request for so if you did not receive an email with your log-in information and password, please email me.

For everyone:  You may want to consider (especially the candidates) to sign up for a gravatar.  You can do so here:  http://en.gravatar.com/.  It makes your posts look more professional.  For bloggers, you do not have to use a photo, but can use a symbol of your choice so that you are not always represented by a squiggly monster.  The gravatars go with you to every site where you use your email.

For the candidates:  Please monitor your posts for questions and comments.  Nothing will chase away a potential vote quicker than ignoring their question.
