iePolitics: Just When We Thought They Might Grow a Spine

On Tuesday’s agenda is this:

County Counsel

20)

Approve Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. 09-0038 with Irell & Manella, LLP, to increase the funding to handle the civil litigation regarding former Assessor Bill Postmus and the improper expenditure of public funds while he was in office (Four votes required).

Talk about a group of individuals that just won’t learn.  You’re not going to win these cases so why keep feeding Ruth’s flame? If you dumped Ruth and Hueston, you might be able to hire a seasoned litigator who could mete sage legal advice instead of telling you what you want to hear.

But we know, it’s not your money, so who cares how many lawsuits the county loses.

Wonder if you will all be singing the same tune when you are given deposition notices where you will be asked about similar situations involving yourselves and you campaign contributors.  So how quickly will Ruth be gone then?  We bet it will be about two weeks after Ruth’s latest screwup is revealed.

And as to those notices of depos beind handed out soon, have fun Biane and Kirk as I know you two are at the top of the list for depos.  Maybe your high-priced attorneys will come in handy after all.

  1. If the County is not ready to go to trial, and it would seem that can’t until the criminal cases are taken care of, why would the County want to be spending more money?

Stringer are you getting kick backs from these folks or what?

  2. At what point does the litigation become so expensive that the cost far exceeds the expected recovery? It looks like the county is throwing good money after bad. Devereaux needs to put a stop to this.

  3. Stringer will only be strung-up once Devilreaux is done with her and has exhausted her use as an incompetent and negligent attorney and “adviser”. He will use her for everything she is worth in compromising the County organizational personnel rules and regulations, because his real target is the civil service rights of the employees. He wants to abolish tenure and performance based public employment known as the merit system in favor of his own form of a political “free for all”.

  4. anybody look to see that Cheryl Ristow is back on the agenda……Wonder what that could be about….maybe they wan to see the file?

  5. The CAO works for the BOS, not the other way around. That’s why the 4 votes to oust him was added this time, so the same thing that happened to Uffer won’t happen to Devereaux. Yes, I would like to know what the outcome on Ristow’s item turned out to be.

  6. Any news on Ms. Stringer? I keep hearing rumbles about the Public Defender from my neighbor. Any news on that?
