iePolitics: Ramblings

I now have electricity and water—not hot water, but at least water that comes out of a pipe instead of a bottle!  Okay, most of the pipes, but not all of them.  A house with indoor plumbing . . . what a luxary!  I think I even have a working doorbell now not that anyone other than the Sheriff’s Department will ever visit me.  But if they do, they can ring my doorbell.  I’m so excited.  That was only 59 days without utilities . . . and a doorbell.

So what do I dare to wish for next . . .  gas to heat with or a satellite internet connection to blog with?  Cable and DSL do not exist out there.  I think I have to have satellite for television too not that I’m going to bother with a TV or a telephone.  I’m just happy to take a bath in a tub that can fit more than one body part at a time.  Those body parts may get frostbite, but at least they will be clean.

Now the bad news.  I need to re-register to vote.  And I find out the new house is in Assemblywomen Connie Conaway’s and Senator Roy Ashburn’s districts.  Ok, so not only do I live in the unincorporated area where my local representation is Brad Mitzelfelt, but now I find my state representatives are hundreds of miles away even when they are at home.  Well so isn’t Brad.  At least Visalia is a little closer than Jupiter.

  1. Is the above Anonymous who in your posting “For all of those who keep telling me you want to help” where you wrote about landlord problems then they harshly responded with “My advice: move, and get a new job. Problem solved.”? With their attitude why is Anonymous reading your blog? Part of their HR duties?
