Reading the various comments on the Mike Ramos Sexual Harassment investigation stories is enough to make my brain hurt.  It seems few understand the underlying issue.   A possible lawsuit has little to do with consensual versus forced sex.  It has nothing to do with the level of attractiveness of either party.  It does have to do with abuse ofpower lies, coverup, and more lies.

This, like any other hostile work environment claim, has to do with disparate treatment in the workplace.  The case in point involves an elected official who used his position to attempt to persuade a subordinate employee to cover up information in an investigation, and when she chose not to do so, she was treated harsher than other employees.  She was retaliated against for being a whistleblower. And she was lied about, having her character questioned, her appearance considered as a factor, and her reputation destroyed.

Cheryl and I have a lot in common in regards to the way we have been treated by the county for standing up for ourselves.  I have had the opportunity to learn more about this investigation than has been released to the press.  Some have chided iePolitics for taking Cheryl’s side in this issue but I can say I am confident that Mike Ramos is the one who will be proven to be the liar.  And I believe it will be shown that a hostile work environment was created for Cheryl as Mike tried to cover his misdeeds with more misdeeds and lies.

My first prediction for 2010 is a no-brainer.  Mike Ramos doesn’t stand a chance at re-election.  A District Attorney who does not tell the truth is a District Attorney who should be removed from office.  He may not even finish out his term.
